Classroom Management Philosophy: Image

My Classroom Management Philosophy

My classroom management philosophy is grounded in principles of restorative justice. I am passionate about sustaining a positive, learner-centered, people-first classroom community. I want to create a space where all identities are welcomed and celebrated and students believe that love is just as important as intellectual rigor and learning. Furthermore, students should be engaged in creating this community and should shape the expectations of the classroom. This will lead to a classroom that is guided by celebrating each other, transparency and authenticity. Ultimately, my classroom management will create an environment that is safe, equitable and empowering to all of my students.

Classroom Management Philosophy: About Me

Classroom Management Teaching Sample

Here is a brief clip of my classroom management in a first grade classroom. In this clip, I use attention getters and physical motions to ensure that students are focused and ready to transition. I transition students from their desks to the carpet and dismiss them one group at a time so that there are no traffic jams.
